Orange Is The New Black

Orange Is The New BlackHello everyone! First of all: Yes, I AM ALIVE. I have recently moved to Belfast and started university, so my schedule just seems to have been jumbled all over the place. Therefore I’ve consequently been finding it hard to find the time to blog. But, no more excuses! I’ve finally settled into a brand new routine and I’m getting back into the swing of things.

For this post I wanted to put together an evening outfit with some black accessories. The reason for this is because, let’s face it, the socialising and nights-out-on-the-town can be just as big a factor of starting university as going to class is (shocker). And wearing the same dresses over and over again can be a bit tedious. Well, for me anyway!

really needed a new black clutch bag and a pair of new black heels. In my opinion, these are two things that everyone needs to have in their wardrobe. After all, black goes with almost everything. So if you’re throwing together a last-minute outfit for the evening, it always helps to have these two things at hand. But remember, just because something is black doesn’t mean it has to be plain or boring. Look out for interesting shapes, materials, or even jewels, when buying black clothing.

As you can see, my shoes have a leather laser cut design, and I liked how it almost co-ordinates slightly with the grid-like lace design of my top. My black clutch bag also features the laser cut design and is studded with jewels, which I felt made it more eye-catching and interesting. Also I need to mention: this bag is a very good size. The last thing you want is to have a bag that’s too small and can’t possibly fit all of your evening essentials into it. But this bag is more than big enough to carry everything you could possibly need.

But there’s no escaping that the thing which stands out most about this outfit is the vibrant orange mini skirt. This skirt is also by River Island and as soon as I saw the graphic and beautiful design on the shelf in-store, I simply fell in love with it! After purchasing this skirt, I popped over to Topshop and noticed a necklace and earrings with a pop of the same vibrant orange colour. Overall, a successful shopping spree.

Hope you all have a nice weekend – Happy Friday!

Over and out.
