Alas, the Student Days are upon us. Long gone are the times of penniless pockets; despairingly staring through shop windows; your ‘nutritious breakfast’ being the left-over Domino’s slice from the night before. We had begun to lose hope, we had started to lose sight of how ‘it used to be’ – but once again: We fought; we prevailed; and we survived…
In reality, the student loan had just arrived. But still, give us some credit.
However, during this glorious time the high street shops like to dangerously sneer at the unsuspecting students, unaware that they about to be roped into their stores as an effect of their illuminating “Calling All Students“ posters. That’s right – 10% off just elevated to 25%. Maybe even more. And in light of this spectacular scene, I decided to take advantage of these delightful discounts. And I must say, I personally very much enjoyed engorging myself with the SALE racks.
For this look I wanted to pair together an ensemble suitable for Spring/Summer 2015 which expresses the phrase “casual chic”. In order to achieve this, I decided to pair laid back and light joggers with a vest top, but with a posh twist. By adding a pair of heeled sandals; a straw summer hat; a silky-feel cover-up; and sparkling accessories – This is a suitable daytime outfit that’s guaranteed to perhaps raise a few heads from dim laptop screens, as you stroll into Starbucks for a vanilla latte.
I also wanted to use a neutral colour palette which are derived from the colour of Spring’s nature; consisting of olive greens, cream hues, and dusty pinks.
As always, I will list all relevant outfit details at the end. But for now, enjoy!
