I Follow The Rabbit

Kathryn's Katwalk - I Follow The Rabbit 1There’s a strange sort of calm during January… You can feel it when you hear the clinking of New Years’ empty Moët bottles being removed; You can feel it when you see the twinkling of Christmas tree lights vanishing from windows; You can feel it as you position your shiny new 2015 calender on your bedroom wall. This feeling can be disguised by a mask of sadness at first, but unveils itself as an aura of acceptance when a glowing new chapter is embraced.

There are numerous pages in this chapter, but there is one which is sometimes swept underneath a floor rug: The flashing advertisements of Winter Sales which radiate from computer screens. For myself in particular, this is a page that I can’t resist tearing out and folding into my back pocket.

This blog post is the first of a two-part fashion series, each of which is focused on ensembles that you can purchase from the Winter Sales. If you’re the kind of person that can’t resist a bargain (rather like myself) then this series should be right up your street!

The novelty cross-body ‘clock’ bag was the inspiration for this outfit. It reminded of the bouncing white rabbit from Lewis Carroll’s Alice In Wonderland, swinging his pocket watch by his side while Alice follows him in perverse curiosity. Therefore it seemed fitting to shoot these photos in Botanic Gardens, Belfast, in order to fully capture the theme of an adventurous Alice chasing after the rabbit, before she tumbles down the rabbit hole.

I decided to use the colour-trio of this clock throughout my entire ensemble: Black and white – with fine flickers of gold. All of the items which you see here can be found on ASOS, quite possibly my favourite online outlet for fashion.

I’ll be back very soon with Part 2!

  7. Hi Kathryn, your bog is beautiful. The way you put your outfits together is gorgeous (particularly love this bag) and your most recent blog post. I’ve just started a blog- http://www.lovemelovemybag.com and was wondering if you have any advice about how to get it seen. Thanks for your help xxx

    1. Hi Lauren, thank you very much for your compliments – I really appreciate it! My biggest advice with regards to getting noticed is to get as social as you can. I see you already have set up your social media platforms, which is great! On Facebook you can find lots of groups dedicated to blogs, for you to interact with other bloggers and companies in order to raise your profile. Also, you will find there are lots of great Twitter pages such as ‘Female Blogger RT’ which help a lot in this way too! Finally I would say that you should try to leave comments on other people’s blogs, the easiest way to do this is through Bloglovin’. Remember, you get back as much as you put in! Hope this helps! xx
